Certaldo, a town of Giovanni Boccaccio, who is promoting an initiative this year, in December 2007, pays homage to his figure and his work. Giovanni Boccaccio as a great scholar, but not limited to: a deep knowledge of art and culture of his era, an avid investigator of the human soul, the source of inspiration - with the Decameron and the other works - Literature and Arts, Middle Ages to the present day.
The Municipality of Certaldo Ente Nazionale Giovanni Boccaccio, in promoting this initiative, invite those who have studied and studying Boccaccio, and especially those who love his work, in Certaldo: within the walls of the castle memory, culture and vitality of the fourteenth century Italian living and renewed, shared heritage, then as now, a people who look beyond the borders of their horizon and own language and embraces all of humanity.
